Some food for thought!!

I was getting ready to sign into my e-mail account and I saw this:

by JJ Virgin

"Someday," you say, "I'm going to get my health back on track, after this next project," or "when I get back from my cruise," or "when the kids get a little older" ... C'mon, you know your list of reasons -- or what I call EXCUSES -- better than I.

Look, if you're waiting for some magical day to appear, you just may be waiting forever. These days do not "show up"; you show up for THEM. I have identified five critical areas, bad habits that many people mindlessly follow. Do you realize that each and every day of your life that you do not reverse these dangerous trends, you get farther and farther from your ultimate goal of living a fulfilling life?

Take a look at each area, determine how you stack up, and then make the fix today:

1) Stealing from sleep: Studies show that a minimum of seven to nine hours of uninterrupted sleep (at night) are essential for health. Sleep is the time when your body repairs and recovers from all of the metabolic processes that your body performs every second. Sleep supports healthy weight management, raises growth hormone, and heals the adrenals. If you are watching TV, working on your PC, or otherwise stimulating yourself so that you are unable to go to sleep by 11 PM, then establish the Power Down Hour and turn to more relaxing activities like baths, light novels, or cuddling with a loved one (or pet!) at least an hour or two before bedtime. Then ... retrain yourself to sleep through the night.

2) Skipping breakfast: How many times do you find yourself dashing out the door to start your day, only to discover that you forgot to eat? Listen, your body has just "fasted" overnight, and in order to fuel yourself for the day (and lower stress hormones), you must eat a balanced meal that includes proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. Otherwise, your body will turn on itself for fuel, and it isn't fat but muscle that it's going to target ... which will cascade into a very nasty sequence of health consequences that will make you fat, old, and tired before your time.

3) Blowing off exercise: If you think you can manage your health and weight through dietary means alone, it won't work. Period. Exercise is crucial for stimulating proper physical and hormonal response necessary for building muscle and bone, burning fat, letting you sleep, keeping you young, giving you energy -- the list is endless. More important is the CORRECT type of exercise, which involves high-intensity interval training, along with resistance workouts. If you can't find 20-30 minutes a day to incorporate these exercises into your life (oh yeah, that is ALL you need, by the way), then you can kiss your health goodbye.

4) Noshing at night: Strapping on the feedbag in the evenings basically signals your body to hold off on burning existing fat stores, raises stress hormones before bedtime, and screws up your body's natural digestive processes at a time when it should be ready to shut down and repair. If you are eating in a hormonally-balanced way during your evening meal, there is absolutely no need to munch afterward.

5) Not counting your beverages: One of the craziest things I encounter in my work is the lack of consideration of high-calorie, high-sugar drinks in the diet. Yes, those healthy "Jumbo Juices," designer coffee slurpees (hey, they may as well be, given all the sugar in them), and those harmless little cocktails every night, especially those fruit-flavored martini and tequila drinks, can really pack on the pounds in a hurry. Make the switch to healthier options like iced green tea -- or, my favorite, Emergen-C -- for some sparkling mineral replacements that not only satisfy, but also fuel and nourish!

Now if this is not a HELLO WAKE UP CALL for you then YOU just are not ready for a health life style!! I love it when I am down and just not feeling like doing much, I get one of these to pick me up and remind me that I NEED to do SOMETHING....... SO get off your butt, STOP eating your late night snack (especially all that Halloween candy that the kidos just got) AND DO SOMETHING rather then nothing and make an excuses not to or to do it later.......

Prayer

So I got a phone call yesterday from Bed Bath and Beyond to come in for an interview. It has been quite some time since I have had a job let alone a job interview. I am beyond nervous and am REALLLLLY hoping that I do get this job. Between me going to school now, Robbies school rates went up and bills in general things are coming down to the niddy griddy. I just want to help start putting forth with our finances. So if all could pray that the job interview goes smoothly and that I would be offered the job and MAYBE even a higher spot other than cashier would be good too. I have worked at BBB before so I know the ins and outs of it but again it has been almost 5 years since working here. Thanks for your prayers I will let you all know how it turns out!!!

One Goal.... One Goal in mind....

I will fit into and be able to zip my own wedding dress BY CHRISTMAS!!!!! It is sad to say or even think that my body is BIGGER then the day I got married. Now I know that for some or most women this is just the same for them... They can not fit into their wedding dresses. Well for those of you who didn't know I was almost 5 yes FIVE months pregnant when I got married so for me this is VERY sad to say. I do know that a HUGE part of the problem is the fact that when I did get married I was in a high B... Low C cup for my bra size but now.. Now I am a BIG D and haven't been able to shake that size even after loosing 15lbs. So with this said I WILL fit into my wedding dress BY CHRISTMAS ZIPPING IT ON MY OWN!!! I am joining you here Hollie on a path to goals!!! This is just the start of mine though more will soon follow this goal!!! Thanks for the good ol' kick in the butt:) YOU TOO BETH!!!

To Funny

So this past week I have had my sis-in-law in town visiting! Well yesterday was a butiful day out so we decided to load the kids up and head to the beach! Well on Tuesday I had my monthly friend visit me so when we stoped by the house after I picked Robbie up from school I greabed a few items that I would need to change. Well I just put them in my back pocket and keept on going. We got to the beach and Robbie decided that he wanted to walk the board walk so we did just that. We where walking and Robbie and I where talking I turned to get the hair out of my face and all of the items that I grabed from the house fell out of my pocket out onto the board walk and started blowing ALL OVER THE PLACE. Right at that point I had a lady run past me and kinda giggle and right as a HUGE group of people started to walk past us I have RObbie saying MOMMY YOUR PULL UP'S ARE BLOWING AWAY I GET THEM FOR YOU!!!!! I couldnt help but just BUST out laughing at that point. You have to love it when you have a 3 year old and they RAT YOU OUT when you are trying to be screative about things!!

Prayer

Please pray for me tomorrow. I am going in to meet with a new doctor in this whole infertility process and am REALLY praying that he is a REAL down to earth type of doctor who isn't going to just blow over my feelings and be all doctory. We just got some news today that Rob's end of the infertility is good it isn't him. I also spoke with my doctor that I have been dealing with up to this point and he has said that my ovary functions are good my prolactin levels are good and back to normal and my MRI went great no problems there. So as of right now there is NO REASON what so ever that we should not be able to get pregnant right now. Well of course maybe God has a different reason and we are just all unaware of it. So just please pray that I like and am comfortable with the new Doctor, he doesn't just push my feelings to the wast side, and that I will fully understand everything that he is going to be explaining to me tomorrow. Also if you could just pray that I do find someone to take Robbie because I REALLY do not want to have to take him to this appt with me tomorrow.

Thank You

I just wanted to say Thank You to everyone who posted a Happy Birthday note to me yesterday on Facebook or Myspace!! It really did help make my day that much better!!!

The Military

Robbie with Lindsey

A trip that we took to Ft.Lauderdale FL to see our husbands while out to sea

I now know what the biggest thing about Military that I do not like. I HATE when friends of mine move away. See when you first move away from home it is hard because you are leaving your family and friends from home, but the differance with moving away from home and moves in the Military are this. When you move from home you KNOW you can come home and your family and friends are going to be there you can always go see them. But when it comes to Military moves you never know if you are going to see that person or not. You dont know if you are going to ever be stationed together agian. It is hard to become friends with people when you are a Military spouse because you are on the move ever 3-4 years. Well I m sorry I dont know about you but for me it takes a good year and a half to 2 years for me to REALLY feel comfortable with someone and call them a real friends. Well I found a REALLY good friend named Lindsey when we where stationed here (in Virginia)back in 2005-2006. Rob and her hubby where stationed on the same ship together and we where the only two goof balls of wifes standing out by the ship when it was pulling out of port one day. I looked at her she looked at me and we where pretty much insepebal from there on out. We did everything together when our husbands where gone (which was a lot). Well when Rob found out that he was going to be picked up for OCS it broke my heart to know that not only where we moving but now I am moving from my friend AND her husband was going to be deploying (Which Rob was due to too). Well we moved and we stayed in touch. Then Rob finished all of his training and we got word that we where going to be able to move back to Virginia. I was so EXCITED because that ment that I was going to be able to move back to a friend that I have missed so much! Well today that friend of mine is moving back to Texas because her husband is going out on deployment again here soon and he will be getting out soon after his deployment. I am so sad to see her leave but so happy that she will finaly be able to go back home to all the family and friends that she once had to leave. So Lindsey I hope that you have a safe and happy trip home!! GOOD LUCK. I will miss ya Homie!!! XO

A Lil Of My Dad

This weekend Rob is out of town showing his Helo in FL at an airshow. Well as you guessed it that leaves me with Robbie when he wakes up in the morning. See since Rob gets up around 5 or so every morning (some mornings earlier) sleeping till 7 seems like sleeping in to him, So he lets me sleep till I get up and he gets Robbie. So not this weekend, I get him which is ok except that for some reason (probably because Rob is not home) I could NOT fall a sleep last night. I think I finally drifted off around 3 or so. Robbie some how wound up in my bed last night along with my two dogs, needless to say it was NOT a good night. Robbie decided that he was going to get up at 7:30 (Fine had I not gotten to bed at 3) and say to me "Mommy I see the sun that means time to get up". "Ok Robbie just give mommy a few mins". "NO Mommy time to get up now, Look the big blanket is starting to come off of you, I take it away". All I could say was OH HECK NO AL JR, I am a grown women now, I am suppose to be pulling the covers off of you Robbie Boy. You see my Dad would pull the blankets off of us when we where younger and didn't get out of bed when he tried to wake us up. Here my 3 year old son is pulling a dad on me!!! Just thought that I would maybe help you all start your weekend off with a little laugh!! Get out and enjoy the weekend I hear it is suppose to warm up a little bit!!! WHOOOO

MRI

Well a little up date not much but a little. I was able to get up on Monday morning and call for my MRI apt. Low and behold I was able to get one of the two last apt for the month of February. The next available apt would have been in mid March. So Monday I got in and THANK YOU GOD Rob was able to go with me and an even BIGGER THANKS to GOD Rob was able to be in the room with me while I was getting the MRI done!! He couldn't do much other than hold my hand but it was still nice to know that he was in there with me! I had 4 different sets of tests done. Two with just me ( I had to redo my 2nd one because Rob was making faces to relax me a little and I smiled to much so those images where blurry. Then the 2nd round of my MRI they put a die into my through IV to get a better contrast or something like that. So 45 mins later and a HUGE bruise on my arm from the IV I am stuck waiting for my MRI results to come back. I e-mailed the Doc that I have been dealing with and am just waiting for a reply. So that is what little update I have for now. Just pray that my MRI results come back soon!! Oh and tomorrow I go in for the procedure where they insert die into my ovaries to see if they are clogged or not.

Where We Are At Now

Well as most of you already know (from reading my blog) Rob and I have started infertility testing. Well this past Wednesday I went in to get my blood drawn for the start of it all. Well on Thursday as I was cleaning the house Robbie ran up to me and told me that daddy was on my cell phone. I took the phone from him and said hey babe whats up? Needless to say it wasn't my babe it was the Dr. that is helping me through all of my testings. He was calling because he had my blood results back in. To me that was really fast but hey I was happy yet scared to find out that he had them back already. So he started off with well your ovarie and thyroid functions are normal but your pro-lactation level is high. The normal limit for this is 20 and nothing higher. Mine was at a 71 Anything higher means that there could be a possible brain tumor on my pituitary gland. So with that said, I am a sitting duck for today and the rest of the weekend and can call and see if Tri-Care has approved my referral the Doctor has put in for me to get an MRI on Monday. IF there is a brain tumor it is treated with medication to help the tumor shrink. The medication will help reduce the size of the tumor and lower my levels of prolactin and maybe make it easier to get pregnant. So as I sit right now, Call for MRI apt on Monday and I also have to go back in and get my blood drawn AGAIN (I passed out with my last one I just had done, they took 5 viles of blood from me people)then on Friday I have an HSG apt at 10:30 with them putting the die into my ovaries to see if they are clogged or not. So I am hoping to make the MRI apt for the same day so I can get it all done and over with in the same day. Just pray for a peace of mind over the weekend for me. Part of me wishes that the doctor just kept the blood tests to himself till Monday and then called me with ever thing when I could have done something about it.

I just REALLY want to Thank EVERYONE who has either e-mailed me or called me to check up on me and see how everything is going. It REALLY does mean A LOT to me to know that I have people who care and are thinking and praying for me!

THANK YOU

It starts tomorrow

For almost 2 years now I guess you could say Rob and I have been trying to have another baby. Well I have started the process with going into the doctor for my starter appointment where he gets to know me and our situation and history. Well yesterday I started my period and this is when the start of all my testing has to be done. I have to get my blood drawn tomorrow (Beth I SO wish I had you around to do this.) I have a HUGE fear of needles, and for some reason I only get the people who have NO CLUE onto what they are doing. I am the test dumby for the military when it comes to have blood drawn. Then on Thursday February 5th I will have a procedure done where I have a die put into my ovaries to see if they are open. I just pray that everything is going to be ok. I will let you know how it all goes when I find out! PLEASE PRAY!!

Home

Well we are finally back in Virginia. We got back on Saturday around 3ish. Part of me is happy to be home and get back into our routine of things but, I was loving being able to be home with my side of the family. The older Robbie gets it seems like the less we are able to get out there because of him starting school now and also now I will be starting school. Well what I can say about my trip was it was nice being able to take a few weeks off from the old grind stone and spend it having breakfast with my Dad and shopping with my Mom, Baking our Christmas cookies with the girls (Oh wait Rob got to help in on this one, Thanks babe for undoing all our kisses and hugs!!!) playing the Wii with Hollie and Jeremy (total BLAST), Going to the car museum with Kylee and Kasen, also going to the Out Back with Alicia, Jori, Allie and Amber!! Taking Robbie to a farm so he could see all the cows and tractors with my Dad and Brad, Getting a night out with my hubby for New Years Eve (THANK YOU HOLLIE) And best but not least being able to all be together for the Holidays. I cant wait to be able to come back "home" again in June!! I miss you all back home and love you.
